The 2004 National Eisteddfod of Wales was held in August at Tredegar Park, Newport, in South Wales. These thumbnails, when clicked, will call up larger images.

Hearing that this was the first occasion on which alcohol was permitted to be sold at the National,  your correspondent visited one of the bars armed with a video camera in order to record this new development in Welsh cultural affairs. The men of Newcastle Emlyn had come to town, and they had removed their jackets. If you'd like to sample the ambience, check the Windows Media Player file.
