Gilbern -  once made in Wales
This Gilbern GT is the property of Mr. Colin Jordan of the W.H. Bence coachbuilding firm near Bristol and is his regular transport. This model was built in 1965 and used MGB components.

These days it is very unusual to see a Gilbern car on the roads - few were made and and they were never a common sight,  even when in production. This model is a small 2+2 coupe in beautiful condition. Although based near Bristol, the car is not Mr. Jordan's only link with Wales, since his company builds massive mobile mammography units for the Welsh health authorities.

We have another view of this rare Welsh car here and you will find more information (and better pictures) at the Gilbern Owners Club website. Nowadays no cars are built in Wales, but V8 engines for the new Jaguars are built at a special facility in Bridgend. However, the Automotive Engineering Department of the Swansea Institute have reminded me that Darrian Cars build race and rally cars in Lampeter.
