An gryphon displays a family shield above a set of gates at Tredegar House,
the ancient Morgan home in south Wales. Tredegar House is the subject of
a renowned restoration project by the County Borough of Newport. Tredegar
became a school after it passed from the family and the furnishings were
dispersed around the world. Newport has managed to turn back the clock,
however, and the house and grounds now enjoy a level of care appropriate
to this unique site.
We can recommend a visit to Tredegar House and its park on a fine summer's
day. It's a safe bet for a family visit since children can safely roam
the park while adults admire the magnificence of the house interiors. There
is a lot to see and enjoy - weather permitting!
